Opportunities in hosting the 2032 Olympics are being investigated by a newly formed task force facilitated by Michelle Landry and chaired by Grant Cassidy with representatives from the RRC being the Mayor Cr. Tony Williams and Cr. Rutherford (Chair Parks, Sport and recreation)
Rockhampton area has a lot going for it with the Fitzroy River for Rowing, World class Hockey facility, Equestrian facility, two under cover arenas and Yeppoon has a cross country course and Keppel Bay is an ideal sailing venue.
Photos in the top gallery show Gracemere has a lot of positives going for older and younger people to enjoy their surroundings like the Touch of Paradise and the Cedrick Archer park. Many of the photos show the lake, bridge, rotunda, shaded picnic areas with plenty of tree plantings and walking tracks. Completion of this project is a credit to the Rockhampton Regional Council who had the vision to put in a park that everyone can enjoy in so many different ways.
